This week every American will be celebrating the birth of our great nation. It’s almost as if you can feel the patriotic energy coursing through the air. Here at ClearSpan we’re proud to be an American company and support American jobs!
You’ve heard about ClearSpan and our affiliate companies, FarmTek, Growers Supply and TekSupply, but I haven’t gone into much detail about how they all came about. It all started in 1979 and was born under the name FarmTek. Our president and CEO, Barry Goldsher, was just a young, ambitious poultry farmer back then, but he had a vision. He partnered up with Chuck Clark and they launched a company whose mission was to provide high-quality products and excellent customer service straight to the agricultural community.
It didn’t take long for Barry and Chuck to bring more products into their newly developed catalog. They decided to create different business units to provide the perfect branding opportunities for new markets they wished to attract. So they created a parent company, Engineering Services and Products Company that would house all four business divisions.
ClearSpan
I consider ClearSpan my baby, although I’ve had nothing to do with the creation and/or structure of this company. I like to think ClearSpan has become better since I joined its marketing and branding efforts. As you all know, ClearSpan Fabric Structures is our building and storage-focused business unit. Each Hercules Truss Arch Building is 100% American-made, including our triple-galvanized structural steel tubing and 12.5 oz. rip-stop polyethylene fabric covers. ClearSpan serves Americans across the country including applications from athletic facilities and bulk storage solutions to hard-working construction companies and the very defenders of this nation—our military.
FarmTek
Since the FarmTek division was the first born, it tends to be considered the heart and soul of ESAPCO. For over 30 years FarmTek, has provided the agricultural and livestock communities with long-lasting, durable American-made products, such as our smaller building structures, barn curtain and new Fodder-Pro Feed Systems. Manufactured in our Dyersville, IA facility, Fodder-Pro Feed Systems are responsible for feeding thousands of livestock healthy, fresh feed daily which in turn feeds thousands of Americans daily.
TekSupply
Created to generate more business in the world of construction workers and contractors, TekSupply has been helping American companies stay in business with its affordable wholesaler pricing and reliable products. TekSupply provides contractors and do-it-yourselfers with products like TekFoil®, radiant in-floor heating and PolyMax®.
Growers Supply
This business unit came into existence to grab the attention of the horticultural industry, especially the industry trend setters. Growers Supply and FarmTek are the two business units that have the most overlap. Many livestock farmers also grow and many growers have backyard poultry operations or rabbits. Growers Supply’s main focus is any commercial grower, retailer or hobby enthusiast that has a passion for growing. With our American-made NFT hydroponic channels and engineered greenhouses, Growers Supply offers top-of-the line growing structures and equipment for all willing to take a chance on their green thumb.
It’s amazing to think that what started as a small agricultural operation with two employees in the 1970s is now a multi-million dollar company with over 400 employees and two locations. Here at ESAPCO we’re happy to have been born in the USA and we’re looking forward to serving American industries for the next 34 years and beyond.
