A few years ago I saw a firsthand what happens when a foundation cracks and begins to give way. It started as a small crack – and actually stayed small for a while – but soon began to grow and develop until it put the house’s structural integrity in jeopardy. Turns out other homes in the area had experienced similar problems, and it was all traced back to a single contractor – no surprise – that had used a poor batch of concrete. The section of the damaged foundation had to be dug out, removed and replaced, which was no doubt as expensive as it sounds. Continue reading

At long last, Spring is here! Better late than never, right? About three weeks ago, my manager asked if I would be willing to attend the Electric Power Conference & Exhibition in New Orleans and of course, I jumped at the chance. With the good food, warm weather and the opportunity to represent the company, who wouldn’t? Monday the 31st I boarded a flight to New Orleans at 8:30 a.m., and after an hour delay from the freak, end-of-March snow storm, we were heading south. One missed connection and a four hour layover in Nashville later, I made it to New Orleans. It was too late for me to set up my booth, so I got some sleep and set up Tuesday before the show.

At ClearSpan Fabric Structures, we’re proud of our achievements, so we’d like to start recognizing the people and places that allow us to be successful. After all, they’re the ones making it possible!
Last week was a successful trip to the annual World of Concrete trade show in Las Vegas, which celebrated its 40th anniversary. Located in the middle of 1,000,000 square feet of exhibition space at the Las Vegas Convention Center (that’s a lot of concrete, by the way), booth C-6643, also known as ClearSpan, shined amongst its peers.
