Brenda and David Webster contacted me back in Dec. 2013 to discuss the possibility of purchasing a riding arena for their business, Black Swan Farm, located in the rolling hills of central Ohio. Brenda owns two donkeys and a horse named Zip that she keeps at home. This past winter was particularly harsh, so she and David decided to purchase one of our 85’ wide structures for indoor riding. In March, we began design on the 85’W x 120’L gable style structure that included two end walls, doors, helical anchors and installation by our ClearSpan crew. Brenda even stopped by our ClearSpan booth at the Equine Affair in Columbus to tell me how excited she was about the arena!
Our design and engineering team is always coming up with new designs and profiles to keep our product exciting! Lucky for David and Brenda, they got first dibs on our new 85’W Hercules Truss Arch Building profile. By the end of May we were ready to ship and install the structure. After two weeks of hard work, the ClearSpan crew finished erecting the new indoor riding arena for the Websters. Shortly after the installation, Brenda contacted me to see if we could send a representative to be present at her open house. I jumped at the chance to help Brenda and see what the end result looked like. One of my favorite parts about selling ClearSpan buildings is seeing the post construction pictures, but it IS even better to see it in person. I love hearing about how much people like the natural light and how much their horses like the atmosphere.
At 7:00 a.m. on June 22, I boarded a quick flight to Columbus to set up for the open house. Brenda and David had arranged for a variety of activities like a raffle, demonstrations from her trainer, Ernest Hatfield, and a talk from her veterinarian, Dr. Galen Johnson. I also gave a presentation on the building. As you can see with the pictures I took, everyone enjoyed being in the arena and loved the natural daytime lighting! All of us at ClearSpan are excited for Brenda, David and their friends to enjoy indoor riding for years to come!
